RESOLVED SITE ISSUE (was "403 Forbidden Error When Installing Crypt-SSLeay")

$

When I try to install the module Crypt-SSLeay, I get the message "install failed: 403 Forbidden". I've tried installing from ppm gui and from the ppm prompt and get the same results in both places. Any suggestions?

I am using Perl version 5.14.2 and PPM version 4.14 on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop.

Thank you

Installing PAR-Packer-1.017

Hi,

I am trying to install the PAR-Packer module. It wasn't found in the repository, so I grabbed it from CPAN. I followed some instructions here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8055063/how-to-install-pp-par-packager)...I question if they're good instructions.

After installing all the dependencies, I try a dmake and get the following errors:

C:\Users\wynner\Desktop\PAR-Packer-1.017>dmake

Can anyone offer any advice on how to get this installed? I'm using version 5.14.2 on Windows 7 64-bit.

autobundle feature

Hi,

I've got a new pc and want to update my installation.
Also I switched from WinXP to Win 7. Therefore, all the binary packets have to upgrade.
What is the best way to upgrade and to keep hold of all my modules.
In CPAN there is the autobundle feature.

thanks,
Steffen

I have ActivePerl 5.18 installed (Win7 64bit) but the packages LibXML and Log4Perl are not listed as available in the PPM GUI. When can we expect these to be available?

Installation question about the location of modules installed using ppm

Good morning.

I am fairly new to using Perl and so if my question is something I should know I ask for your patience.

I have installed Perl 5 using the install process that installs the Padre ide. A directory was created - Dwimperl.

When I use ppm to install a module i.e. Spreadsheet::Read for example, I can't find the install anywhere. Where does PPM install modules that are downloaded?

Thank you for any help or direction. I did search for an answer but was unable to find one.

ppm support for perl 5.18

Why is the MinGW64 module missing?

$

I am evaluating update from Perl 5.16.3 to Perl 5.18.2. Under Perl 5.16.3, I am able to use ppm to install MinGW64. Under Perl 5.18.2, I cannot. When I go to the ppm index site to search for the status of the module, the search says it is missing. http://code.activestate.com/ppm/MinGW64/

1. Why can't I see the status of the module MinGW64?
2. What is the true status of the module MinGW64?

Is Perl 5.18 ppm access for Windows x86_64 only available for Business Edition users?

Hi,
For configuring Bugzilla 4.4.4, we have installed Active Perl 5.18.2 in Windows 2008 R2 (64 bit machine). Now while trying to install additional Perl modules (required by Bugzila) MinGW, AppConfig, TimeDate, Text-CSV etc, we are getting below message. To resolve this issue do we need to install any patch, if so could you please let me know where we will get that and the steps to install the same.

PPMX download requires a Business Version authentication of some sort..?

windows 7
perl v5.16.3

I need Spreadsheet::Read / WriteExcel. Was able to PPM install these onto my laptop. However, my current contract finds me behind the Great Wall. Thought I might try PPMX approach but I'm asked for a Business Version login when trying to download the PPMX file for Spreadsheet:: modules. I don't believe I have one of those..

Just wondering what the logic is.. available thru PPM but not the PPMX approach..

Any work-arounds ?

Thanks much in advance..

PPM re-installing previously uninstalled module

Hi,

I am trying to reinstall a previously uninstalled package, in the Perl Package Manager GUI. Earlier I uninstalled Win32-SerialPort by accident. I am trying to reinstall it, but it doesn't come up in any search results, when viewing all packages. So I thought that uninstalling it might have left something behind, by viewing Installed packages. If it doesn't show up in the search results, how can I go about re-installing the package again? Attempting to install it on the command line fails as well, stating that it can't find it.

Platform - Windows XP
Perl version - 5.18.2

Dom.pm

I have installed ActivePerl 5.16.3. I have also done a install XML::DOM in cpan shell as follows:
cpan> install XML::DOM
Still when I use XML::DOM in a module, I get the following error:
C:\Users\Dell\Downloads\ROUGE-1.5.5 (1)\RELEASE-1.5.5>ROUGE-1.5.5.pl
Can't locate XML/DOM.pm in @INC (@INC contains: C:/Perl64/site/lib C:/Perl64/lib
.) at C:\Users\Dell\Downloads\ROUGE-1.5.5 (1)\RELEASE-1.5.5\ROUGE-1.5.5.pl line
173.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\Users\Dell\Downloads\ROUGE-1.5.5 (1)\REL
EASE-1.5.5\ROUGE-1.5.5.pl line 173.

But if I download the DOM package from cpan.org and update my PERL5LIB variable to point
to that DOM.pm, the error goes away.

My question is : Isn't install step enough?

I am new to all these, hence any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Swapnajit

Hello,

I'd like to install bugzilla in Windows Server 2012 x64, with IIS 8.5, MySQL and ActivePerl 5.18 - and I have a problem with ActivePerl 5.18 package installing.

I downloaded the installer from activestate.com, install the program and opened the PPM (version 4.19). After this I'd like to install the packages wrote by https://wiki.mozilla.org/Bugzilla:Win32Install in PPM gui and in CMD too with "ppm install AppConfig", but the return msg is "ERROR: 500 Can't connect to theryx5.uwinnipeg.ca:80 (Bad hostname)".

I put it in to the proxy, but it's still give this error msg. Also I searched for this site, but there is only theOryx5.uwinnipeg.ca. I have to change the hostname? But where I can do it? I browse for it but I can't find solution.

Thanks for your help:

Can't find number-format package

$

I have been using ActiveState Perl for several years. I recently received a new computer, and installed ActiveState Perl 5.18.2. I then went to add the packages I use, and was able to add all of them except "number-format", which didn't show up in the package manager. Is that package no longer supported, or am I doing something wrong?

Thank you.
